*Read Pinyin with accurate pronunciation;
*Understand basic Chinese dialog
*Understand basic grammar for simple sentences
*Master a vocabulary with about 200 words.
*No Chinese characters are involved unless specifically requested.

Intermediate level For students who have finished the beginner (or equivalent) level courses
Able to:
*Understand grammar for compound sentences
*Possess a vocabulary to cover all basic scenarios in everyday conversation, formal or casual
*Understand most of the requests and ideas of Chinese speakers and make yourself understood
*Read simple news articles and type simple messages in Chinese.
 200 – 250 sessions
Advanced level For students who have finished the intermediate (or equivalent) level courses or have lived in China for a considerable period of time.
Able to:
*Read academic journals, sophisticated analysis, and Chinese literature
*Master modern Chinese grammar
*Write Chinese characters by hand
*Compose correspondence, business reports, and presentation slides.
