Standard Chinese
In this course, you will receive systematic Chinese training. We have carefully selected scenarios, phrases, expressions and cultural points of interest that can bring you a true China. In this course, Pinyin will be introduced at the very beginning and will be included throughout the course. This course contains 5 levels. Beginning at level 2, students will need to either first complete or prove mastery a lower level in order to proceed to a higher level.
Level One
This course is for true beginners. Our certified teachers will help you build a solid foundation in Mandarin Chinese.
Content of level one include: Introduction to Pinyin and Chinese characters, greetings and self-introduction, conversation about one's family and job, etc.

Level Two
This level is for learners who are able to hold simple daily Chinese conversations. Students may find it difficult to catch words in longer sentences or faster conversations. Topics include numerals and topics using numerals such as age, time, date, schedule, food, drink and restaurants. Learners will also continue to learn the basic Chinese character strokes.

Level Three
This level is for students who, upon completing the first two levels, are able to clearly conduct common conversations at a reasonable word speed and are ready for a more complicated context. Topics include looking for and renting an apartment in China, choosing means of transportation, giving and receiving directions, etc. Students will start to learn basic characters.

Level Four
Students at this level have become quite comfortable with articulating simple ideas and engaging in conversations with native speakers. Level 4 will lead the students to become more effective communicators in the following practical situations: banking, going to the post office, talking about hobbies and the weather. Students will master approximately 100 characters.

Level Five
This is our highest level of Standard Chinese. By the time students start this level, they will have gained confidence in exchanging thoughts on a large variety of topics, especially those pertaining to their own interests, everyday life, and everyday routines at close to a normal word speed. In addition, our highest level of Standard Chinese will help these true Mandarin lovers to be one step closer to their goals. This level's topics will get more "abstract" than before. Students will learn how to describe and articulate their own feelings, both emotional and physical. Networking with native speakers will also be one of the topics. Students will be able to recognize approximately 200 Chinese characters upon completion of this long-term program.
