河南彩色小麦已被列入我国太空育种升空计划。据介绍,精选出来的种子已被送到省同位素研究所进行辐照,并将于近期送往北京接受国家有关部门的检疫消毒。预计9月它们将搭乘卫星遨游太空,进行太空综合射线辐射,以创造出更优质、更保健的小麦新品种。
Henan colored wheat has been listed in our country's seed-breeding plan to send seeds into outer space. The seeds chosen have been sent to the Provincial Isotope Research Center to undergo radiation. They will soon be sent to Beijing for quarantine and disinfection by the appropriate national agency. They will "travel" into space by satellite and undergo comprehensive radiation, in order to generate better and healthier new types of wheat.
彩色小麦是河南南阳市著名育种专家周中普带领的科研小组,经过10多年努力,采用“化学诱变”“物理诱变”和“远缘杂交”三结合育种方法培育而成。其蛋白质、锌、铁、钙的含量远远超过普通小麦,并含有普通小麦所没有的微量元素碘和硒。正因为富含多种微量元素,种皮上呈现出不同色彩。故被称为彩色小麦。外加这些微量元素有很好的保健作用,因而又被称为保健小麦。
Colored wheat was cultivated by the famous seed-breeding expert Zhongpu Zhou and his scientific research group in Nanyang, Henan Province. The group used a "three-in-one" method, namely chemically-induced change, physically-induced change and distant hybridization. It took them more than 10 years of arduous endeavor to develop the colored wheat. The protein, zinc, iron and calcium content of colored wheat is far higher than that of ordinary wheat. Colored wheat also contains trace elements, such as iodine and selenium, which ordinary wheat does not have. In fact, because the wheat contains many kinds of trace elements, its hull appears in different colors. Therefore, it is called colored wheat. In addition, these trace elements have good health benefits, so the wheat is also called "healthy" wheat.
据悉,此次升空旨在获取更多的基因变异彩色小麦品种,这将丰富我国的育种基因资源。
The purpose of this launch is to get more types of gene mutations in colored wheat. This will enrich our country's seed-breeding gene pools.
记者在采访中了解到,目前周中普科研小组的“三结合”育种法采用的是单一射线,而种子进入太空后,经受的是综合射线,甚至是人类未知的射线辐射,种子可产生无数基因变异,从产生的第二代品种中,可选择出无数的育种材料,从而创造出更优质的保健小麦新品种,或许将来小麦的颜色更加丰富多彩。
This reporter learned that the "three-in-one" seed-breeding method of Zhongpu Zhou's scientific research group currently uses single-ray radiation. But, after the seeds enter space, they receive radiation from multiple sources. Some radiation types may not even be known by man. The seeds may produce countless gene mutations.
